NSF-BSF program in Computer Science

Name:  NSF-BSF program in Computer Science

Description: The Division of Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS) studies the interrelated roles of people, computers, and information. IIS supports research and education activities that 1) develop new knowledge about the role of people in the design and use of information technology; 2) increase our capability to create, manage, and understand data and information in circumstances ranging from personal computers to globally-distributed systems; and 3) advance our understanding of how computational systems can exhibit the hallmarks of intelligence.

Program Areas:
IIS supports three core programs: 
  1. Cyber-Human Systems (CHS); 
  2. Information Integration and Informatics (III); and 
  3. Robust Intelligence (RI).
Eligibility: Ph.D faculty members

Total amount: The size of the BSF grant to the Israeli is expected to be up to 70,000$/year for experimental programs and up to $40,000/year for theoretical or computer based program, subject to the availability of funds. BSF will follow the decision by the U.S. funding agency regarding the length of the project.

Deadline: 5 pm (Israel time) on 22 November 2017.
